DAN GRIBBIN
Saxophone soloist - Debussy - Rapsodie pour Saxophone, November 2021
Having studied on the prestigious ‘Joint Course’ between the Royal Northern College of Music and The University of Manchester, Dan has recently graduated with a first-class honours degree in music. Whilst continuing his studies at the RNCM with Rob Buckland and Iain Dixon, Dan maintains a keen interest in contemporary classical, jazz and musical theatre genres. His experience within a variety of styles enables Dan to regularly perform in concerts, shows and conferences around the UK both as a soloist and alongside various ensembles.

Dan is a proud member of the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra and Arcus Saxophone Quartet. The quartet are currently preparing a world premiere of a work by composer Jenni Watson and look forward to performing at the 2022 European Saxophone Congress in Trento, Italy. Dan relishes the opportunities these ensembles provide to nurture a diverse musical palate which bridges the gap between the classical and jazz worlds.

Larger ensembles such as the RNCM Big Band and Nottingham Jazz Orchestra give Dan the opportunity to grow his experience working in jazz and commercial music genres. Alongside recording sessions across the North West, Dan’s session work has led him to performances at Band on the Wall and multiple appearances on BBC Radio. Dan’s breadth of performance experience has earned him Grade 8 qualifications in saxophone, drum kit, singing and acting.
