Flute soloist - Reinecke Flute Concerto, July 2019

British flautist Anna Rogers won a scholarship to study an undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music. Anna studies with Gitte Marcusson and has played in masterclasses with William Bennett, Emily Beynon and Paul Edmund Davies. Anna began playing flute when she was 8 years old. She achieved ABRSM Grade 8 when she was 11 and at the same age she was invited to play in a masterclass with Sir James Galway and play with the National Children’s Orchestra. She went on to become Principal Flute in the National Children’s Wind Orchestra and Co-Principal Flute in the National Youth Wind Orchestra, where she was appointed a Leverhulme Arts Scholar. Anna made her concerto debut in 2012 where she performed Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.2 at Birmingham Town Hall. She won a full scholarship to study at the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music where she was Principal Flute in their Symphony Orchestra performing a wide variety of repertoire. In 2016, she won the prestigious Junior Bromsgrove International Music Competition. She is currently Principal Flute of a number of orchestras such as Fantasia Orchestra in Notting Hill, Wyatt Sinfonia and Watford Youth Sinfonia. Anna is kindly supported by EMI Sound Foundation and local charitable trusts. Anna’s ambition is to be an orchestral flautist and soloist.
